LOS ANGELES – October 8, 2021: Warner Chappell Production Music (WCPM), creative partner to content creators, technology platforms and the TV/film, streaming, broadcast, sports, and advertising industries, has been awarded two Mark Awards by the Production Music Association (PMA). In addition, WCPM took home the top prize at the annual Battle of the Music Directors.
The Mark Awards honor the creative achievements of the production music community and were presented in Los Angeles Oct. 6th as part of the 2021 Production Music Conference (PMC). Warner Chappell Production Music and its partner catalogs won the following Mark Awards at this year’s ceremony:
Suspense/Tension Track of the Year
“Ominous Obscure Pulses”
CosMind Production Music
Best Use in a Feature Film
“Learning The Hard Way MCM”
Zachary James Pietrini
WCPM’s Head of Production, Pat Weaver, said: “Both MidCoast Music and CosMind Production Music have been valued partners of WCPM’s for many years. They’ve made meaningful contributions to our exceptional repertoire, and we’re very proud to join our peers in celebrating these two creative talents. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.”
In addition, WCPM’s Music Creative Lead, Emma Shilliday won the annual Battle of the Music Directors at the 2021 PMC. The competition was judged by two Music Supervisors – Rosanna Wright (Netflix) and Joel C. High (Creative Control) – each of whom provided a creative brief. Sourcing from their respective catalogs, the contestants submitted track options in under five minutes, and Shilliday’s were chosen by both judges.
The Production Music Association is a non-profit and leading advocate of the production music community with over 670 music publishing members – ranging from major labels to independent boutiques. Named in honor of the late Andy Mark, who was a library owner and founding member of the PMA, this year’s Mark Awards recognized the very best in production music across more than 30 categories.
