NASHVILLE, TENN., July 9, 2019 – Warner Chappell Production Music, a part of Warner Music Group and a world leader in the production and custom music industry, has been awarded a NewscastStudio BROADCAST PRODUCTION award, alongside partners PIX11 for the promotional piece, “We Are New York’s Very Own.”
“We Are New York’s Very Own,” created in conjunction with the creative team at WPIX, is a love song to New York City and supports PIX11’s brand and core message — “New York’s Very Own” — celebrating the diversity of the city while capturing the intimate feeling of ‘home.’ In the promo, a music video combines friendly street scenes familiar to New Yorkers with endearing shots of news talent. Original lyrics and an upbeat, infectious tune create a loving ode to the metropolis and has been shared on air and on social media.
“When PIX11 did a station redesign a few years ago, Warner Chappell rose to the challenge of providing an original soundtrack that represented the extensive musical diversity that is New York City,” said David McDonald, On-Air Promotions Manager for PIX11.
“So when it came time to develop an anthem for our ‘New York’s Very Own’ brand, once again PIX11 worked with Warner Chappell to create this wonderful composition that has become the centerpiece of our brand.”
The NewscastStudio Awards for BROADCAST PRODUCTION aim to showcase the best music compositions and uses. Warner Chappell Production Music was chosen as a custom music for promotions winner from over 200 entries, across multiple broadcast categories.
“Working with WPIX on this fun, inspiring project was rewarding in itself for our team,” said Pat Weaver, Head of Production for Warner Chappell Production Music. “Receiving this award is a testament that our combined efforts hit the mark, and we couldn’t be more thrilled and honored.”
